Kriek Industries embarked on a project to design and automate a jig for assembling three distinct components into a single unit, fastened together with screws by a single human operator. The jig was engineered to streamline the assembly process by securely holding the components in place using pneumatic clamping cylinders and automatic actuated valves controlled by a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). The primary objectives were to reduce assembly time, maintain a precise 2mm spacing between two of the components, ensure consistent placement for repeatable tolerances, and eliminate rework and scrap rates. This project aimed to enhance production efficiency while upholding stringent quality standards.
